World Cup

Why is Mr Cameron flying to and from Switzerland? To support the World Cup bid that we all want apparently. I'm as keen on the World Cup coming to England as I was on the Olympic 2012 bid. Most commentators and politicians keep telling me how glad I was that we won the 2012 bid. I wasn't, and did not have the luxury of contributing to a decision that cost my tax money and delivers no tangible benefit to me or my family.

The same applies to the World Cup bid which was instigated by a previous administration, not the Football Association, so why does my Prime Minister feel the need to take his eye off the day job i.e. running the country and sorting out the god awful mess that Labour left us in and keep to'ing and fro'ing  from Switzerland to bid for a football competition? Populist politics is what cost the country from 1997 onwards, I hope that the present administration doesn't fall into the same trap.

Luckily for us that decision was taken out of our hands, dodged a bullet there, pity we didn't dodge the Olympic one.
