Now then, Now then, Livestrong Gangnam Style

I was going to blog at length about the Jimmy Saville and Lance Armstrong scandals but soon realised that I couldn't be bothered and what new is to be said? I do not condone either of their actions, but it seems it was common knowledge what they were both up to.

If so many people were willing to look the other way then there are more people at fault here than the two individuals in question. I realise that abuse of a minor is as serious as it gets but how come so many people come out of the woodwork now when the 'C' word (Compensation) rears it's ugly head? Where was the bravery when he was alive that could have prevented the proliferation of more abuse victims? Just saying.....

If you have read any of my blogs you will know my opinion of cyclists in general, so anything that puts the 'lycra lads and ladies' in  bad light is OK by me, but again the hypocrisy of the governing bodies here who made millions from the 'Armstrong effect' are now coming down like a ton of bricks once his value to cycling is diminished. I have been very impressed with the way that cycling has tried to clean up it's act over the past few years and many other sports that want to be 'clean' could learn from it. However you have to have a clean slate approach and put a stake in the ground when cleaning up.

If you want a sport to be 100% clean you have to have a zero tolerance policy and 100% testing. The drugs in sport debate is for another time and probably my other blog #PROJECTSTRONGMAN but all this retrospective witch hunting has tainted the excellent work that has been done over the past few years.

Life imitating art? Gangnam Style!

A week ago, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, met and took dancing lessons from South Korean rapper Psy. Mr Ban, who is also South Korean, joked that he felt overshadowed by the Gangnam Style singer, whose video has clocked up more than half a billion views on YouTube.
It brought to mind one of my favourite mindless movies, Bill and Ted's excellent adventure.
The premise of the film being that two losers start a band in their garage called WYLD STALLYNS and a messenger from the future (Rufus, played by the legendary and much missed George Carlin) comes back in time to tell them that
"eventually your music will help put an end to war and poverty. It will align the planets and bring them into universal harmony. Allowing meaningful contact with all forms of life. From extra terrestrials to common household pets. And, it's excellent for dancing."
It is alleged that there will be an alignment of planets that will take place Dec 3, 2012 it will be a dead-on alignment with the Pyramids at Giza.

So there we have it, planetary alignment and crap music that everyone is dancing to...........
Just saying........
Be excellent to each other!
