Students, Schools and Snoods

So student 'activists' are planning more occupations, sit-ins and disruption, following on from yesterday's debacle in central  London. Proof that they've got too much time on their hands and are unable to use their so called 'superior intellects' to debate their grievances effectively. Instead they gravitate to the lowest common denominators of violence and vandalism. This country is grossly over intellectualized with people waving around degrees in Zoology, Philosophy and Art who then wonder why that 'qualification' doesn't immediately get them a job. I'll tell you why, they are worthless and carry no value whatsoever in the commercial world.

Doctors, Solicitors, Teachers and other professions requiring specific degree qualifications are obviously necessary, but more vocational qualifications with relevance to the real world and the requirements of our economy makes much better sense. Incidentally the intensity (or lack of) in degree courses is quite frankly a joke. Nearly all courses could be cut by 12 months and the work rate intensified, this would also be a year less of tuition fees. You do not have birth right to free further education and should be expected to repay the costs (at a reasonable level admittedly) when able.

I do genuinely have a small amount of sympathy with our present student population who had been groomed by a Labour administration and their policies to believe that a degree was a guarantee of a free ride to the land of milk and honey. Wake up to real world, get of your a**es and do a proper days work.

My 2 daughters are at junior school and due to the fact they have as healthy appetites as their father, school dinners are inadequate for them. For this reason they take packed lunches, I have tried to be creative with regard to their diets and during the winter months, flasks of home made soups and pastas are an ideal lunch......Until now, the school has stated that due to health and safety issues they are no longer allowed to bring hot food. I assume from this that the school dinners are served cold! Another healthy snack previous enjoyed by both girls was nuts and raisins, you've guessed it, they are banned too in case what? My daughters force feed someone with a nut allergy? What the hell is going on when I am restricted in delivering my own children a healthy balanced diet by petty bureaucratic nonsense?

Snoods, a final nail in the coffin for Football I'm afraid, what on earth are you thinking? Also if my kids are not allowed to wear Help for Heroes wrist bands at school in case they injure themselves by catching them on something, how ridiculous that in a semi-contact sport you are allowed to wear something around your neck? Well done Sir Alex for banning your players from wearing them.

Have a great weekend, and you students take it easy after your busy week defacing monuments to national heroes. Tiring work I'm sure
